Two weeks ago it was time for the Chartreuse Cocktail Challenge finals at Reisen Bar here in Stockholm. Of all submitted recipes, twelve were chosen – and their creators, some of the best bartenders in Sweden, were supposed to present them in front of a jury. I was kind of disappointed that my recipes didn’t make it to the finals, but also relieved that I didn’t have to do the presentation. Oh well…

All contestants made their cocktail, which had to include a minimum of 20 ml Green Chartreuse, and in the end it was Emil Seth Åreng from Rex Bar & Grill in Umeå who impressed the judges the most and won the trip to France and a complete Chartreuse experience, including the famous monastery and distillery – congratulations! Second place went to Sara Garsten (Cantineros) and third place to Jimmy Hult (Häktet).
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend this event myself, but Emil kindly shared his winning recipe with us so we can try it out for ourselves, and it sounds like a perfect drink for cold autumn and winter evenings – enjoy!
