Beefeater 24 Perfect Host Bartender Competition 2012 in Stockholm

In addition to the previously mentioned Angostura cocktail competition, there was also a Beefeater 24 competition in Stockholm last week. Apparently, 13 bartenders from Sweden and Denmark competed against each other, making Beefeater 24 cocktails which had to include a minimum of 35 ml Beefeater 24 and also tea flavour and/or aroma. As if that wasn’t enough, every bartender should try to bring their drink to life with an engaging story, be a “Perfect Host” and of course make the drink perfectly. Ultimately, the winner was Hasse Bank Johansen from St. Pauls Apothek in Aarhus, Denmark. He made the best performance according to the judges, and has qualified himself to the world finals in London in the end of November, congratulations! – Great competition, nice crowd and relaxed rules. All good competitors with high standard. Interesting working with tea, I will definitely integrate the ingredient more in future cocktail cards at my bar St. Pauls Apothek in Aarhus.

Mr. Oolong’s Fixer Up

Mr. Oolong’s Fixer Up
50 ml Beefeater 24
10 ml Oolong cordial
3 drops grapefruit bitters

Shake, grape twist and discharge.

Oolong cordial
1000 ml water
500 g sugar
25 g oolong tea
14 g citric acid

Slow cooked 2 hours.
