On October 6, the local finals of Beefeater 24 Global Bartender Competition took place at the Pernod Ricard office in Stockholm. Nine bartenders from Sweden and three from Denmark battled for the chance to win a spot in the global finals in London on November 7. The challenge was to choose and make a classic gin cocktail, and also to create a twist on that same classic cocktail using Beefeater 24.

All contestants performed very well – some were of course more nervous than others – but according to the jury, Jakob Sundin (Purfict), Tim Stones (Beefeater global brand ambassador) and Patrik Bruhl, it was Hardeep Singh Rehal from 1105 in Copenhagen whose solid presentation and Indian-influenced cocktail made him this evening’s winner – congratulations!
However, a few days later contestant Andrea Patelli (Little Quarter) told me that the organisers forgot that they were supposed to choose two winners – one from Denmark and one from Sweden – so they had contacted Andrea to tell him that he’s also expected to compete in the global finals in London – congratulations and good luck!
